Following the electoral victory of Hamas (25 January 2006) and the consolidation of the Kadima party in the Israeli elections (28 March 2006), CITpax, in collaboration with the Fundación Rafael del Pino and the Fundación de las Tres Culturas del Mediterráneo, organised a meeting to analyse the new situation in Israel-Palestine. The participants discussed the immediate repercussions of these elections for peace in the Middle East and stability in the Arab world, and the challenges involved in reconciling Islam with democracy.
