As a follow-up to the UNIFIL meeting that was held in December 2009, CITpax, in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence, convened a second closed-door meeting with a restricted number of participants on January 18, 2010 at the General Gutiérrez Mellado Institute.

Officials from the Israel Goverment shared their views regarding the UNIFIL mission in Lebanon, from both the strategic and operational perspectives, before a composition of participants similar to that of the previous meeting.

On the Spanish side, the seminar was attended by the following participants the UNIFIL Force Commander, General Alberto Asarta; the Israeli Ambassador to Spain, Rafael Schultz; the Director of the General Gutiérrez Mellado Institute, Miguel Requena; the Director of Spanish Institute for Strategic Studies (IEEE), General Miguel Ángel Ballesteros; the Deputy Director General for the Middle East of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Alberto Ucelay; the Secretary General for Defence Policy of the Spanish Ministry of Defence, Luis Cuesta; the Head of Cabinet, SEGENPOL, Ministry of Defence, Spain, General Juan Moliner; and the former Head of the Strategic Military Cell, DPKO, UN., Ángel Guinea.
