CITpax has monitored the development of European Union foreign policy, paying special attention to developments in foreign and common security policy and, in particular, to issues concerning European security and defence policy. The value added of the European Union’s foreign actions has been based, up until now, on its civil abilities, but these may be reinforced by developing the Union’s military aspect in a controlled and rational way. CITpax is particularly interested in analyzing the role of the European Union as an international player and its influence on international relations and the international legal system, as well as the study of relations that the European integration process has established with groups and countries from all geographical areas.
